UK Think Tank Asks EU To Investigate Google Tax Deals

Law360 (April 26, 2019, 9:50 AM EDT) -- A British think tank asked the European Union’s competition commissioner on Friday to investigate the tax arrangements of U.S. tech giant Google in the Netherlands and Ireland, claiming that the deals give the company a potentially unfair advantage.

Tax Watch claims that Google had set up a tax avoidance scheme, using payments between companies in the Netherlands and Ireland, so it does not have to pay billions of euros in taxes to EU countries.
