Major Broker Launches $1B Political Risk Insurance Program
Law360, London (May 2, 2019, 4:25 PM BST) -- Willis Towers Watson has launched a “unique” $1 billion insurance program to protect investors from political risk, against a backdrop of rising protectionism and populist movements around the world, according to a managing director at the U.K.-headquartered brokerage giant.
The offering, developed in partnership with the consulting firm Oxford Analytica, is designed to protect investors from the “catastrophic impact” that they could suffer due to an “extremely volatile” geopolitical landscape, said Willis Towers Watson managing director Andrew van den Born.
