EU Opens Antitrust Probe Into Irish Insurance Data Pooling
Law360, London (May 14, 2019, 12:24 PM BST) -- The European Union’s antitrust regulator said Tuesday it has opened an investigation into whether Ireland’s top insurance lobby breached the bloc’s competition rules by restricting access to claims data.
Competition chief Margrethe Vestager said the commission is probing whether companies seeking to offer services on the Irish motor insurance market may have been denied access to a data pool. (AP)
