Shippers Shift Blame In Roll-On, Roll-Off Cargo Cartel Suit

Law360, London (March 16, 2020, 8:15 PM GMT) -- A South American shipping company fined for fixing the price of vehicle cargo services says it can't be held liable in Daimler’s English lawsuit seeking $187 million, as the defendants scrap over who will be held liable if the German automaker wins.

In documents filed March 11 in the High Court, Chile-based Compania Sud Americana De Vapores SA, or CSAV, denied it is liable alongside with defendants including Wallenius Lines over Daimler’s suit alleging that the shippers took part in a cartel for vehicle shipping services from 1997 to 2012.
