Barclays Questions PE Chief's Memory In Crisis-Era Suit
Law360, London (June 15, 2020, 8:49 PM BST) -- Barclays' lawyer argued at trial Monday that financier Amanda Staveley's own notes from the bank's 2008 funding scramble don't back up her claim that she was getting "the same deal" as Qatari investors.
Marking the third day of cross-examination in the high-profile dispute, Jeffery Onions QC, counsel for Barclays, sought to poke holes in Staveley's recollections from a meeting she had with Roger Jenkins, the bank's former head of Middle East investment, at his London home on Oct. 23, 2008.
