Dechert Atty's Evidence Errors Can't Reopen UAE Fraud Suit

Law360, London (June 30, 2020, 9:07 PM BST) -- A London judge has refused to reconsider his ruling that aviation magnate Farhad Azima defrauded an Emirati state-owned fund, saying Tuesday that a Dechert attorney's incorrect testimony at trial did not alter the substantive findings against the Arab-American businessman.  

Azima had sought to reopen the judgment after Dechert LLP partner Neil Gerrard asked to correct evidence given in cross-examination about the extent and nature of interviews he conducted with Karam Al Sadeq, a Ras Al Khaimah prisoner who is separately suing Gerrard and other Dechert lawyers over claims they violated his rights.
