Barclays Wants $130M From Embattled Health Co. Exec
By Christopher Crosby (December 17, 2021, 6:39 PM GMT) -- Barclays urged a London judge on Friday to allow it to enforce a $130 million judgment against the founder of a failed hospital operator embroiled in a major fraud scandal, arguing that he is personally liable for losses run up by his foreign exchange business.
Lawyers for the banking giant asked Judge Andrew Henshaw to grant it a quick win at the High Court in its efforts to recover money from Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, founder of a major international conglomerate that fell apart in controversial circumstances and wiped out billions in value for shareholders.
