EU Insurers Warn Against Changes To Product Liability Rules

By Najiyya Budaly (January 10, 2022, 2:28 PM GMT) -- Europe's lawmakers should not update product liability rules in response to digital products and artificial intelligence because the sector already provides a broad range of cover for citizens, insurers said on Monday.

Insurance Europe, which represents the sector, told the European Commission that the bloc does not need to make major changes to the existing product liability framework in response to developments in the online world.
