Pension Liabilities Expected To Fall As Mortality Rises

By Dawood Fakhir (May 6, 2022, 5:32 PM BST) -- Pension companies are expected to benefit from a projected increase in death rates and decrease in life expectancy across Britain, because of the indirect results of the pandemic on the public's health, a pension consultancy has said.

Lane Clark & Peacock said in a report on Thursday that the COVID-19 pandemic caused various known and unknown effects on the public.

"As we start 'living with COVID-19,' the potential longer-term impacts on mortality are more uncertain than ever," Chris Tavener, a partner at LCP, said.
