Order on Motion to Expedite
ORDER regarding Plaintiffs' 65 Motion for Expedited Discovery. The parties conducted a conference pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 26(f) on June 22, 2026, at which point discovery opened. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 26(f). The court observes that Defendants served discovery on Plaintiffs that same day, see ECF No. 76 at 2, making Plaintiffs' response deadline July 22, 2026. As this timeline demonstrates, no "expedited" discovery is required at this juncture because discovery is open and is proceeding. Notably, too, a response deadline for any written discovery Plaintiffs might have served in close proximity to the Rule 26(f) conference would have been subject to a now quickly approaching response deadline. Further, no hearing on Plaintiffs' Renewed Motion for Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Injunction (ECF No. 63 ) has been set at this time, and briefing on that Motion will not be completed until July 30, 2026, see ECF No. 81 , thus allowing time for the setting and completion of some depositions. Accordingly, the 65 Motion for Expedited Discovery is DENIED. Objections to this Order are due within 14 days. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 72(b)(2). Text Only Entry. (sbplc11)
