Order
TEXT ORDER: The parties participated in a settlement conference before the undersigned on July 14, 2026 that did not result in resolution of the case. The deadlines set forth in the Court's March 13, 2026 Amended Scheduling Order (ECF No. 15 ) continue to remain in effect. If the parties require an extension of any of the discovery deadlines set forth therein, counsel shall meet and confer and submit a proposed amended scheduling order to the Court by July 17, 2026. So Ordered by Magistrate Judge Stacey D. Adams on 07/14/2026. (bms)
Order on Motion for Magistrate Judge
TEXT ORDER: Plaintiff Counsel's July 9, 2026 letter request to permit her client to appear virtually for the July 14, 2026 settlement conference (ECF No. 16 ) is DENIED. The Court scheduled the conference by an Order entered on March 13, 2026 (ECF No. 15 ), and thus the assertions that "Plaintiff recently became aware of the scheduled settlement conference" and would need "to travel to Newark on relatively short notice" are not credible. The parties are reminded that the settlement conference on July 14, 2026 shall commence at 10:00 a.m. IN PERSON at the Frank R. Lautenberg Post Office and U.S. Courthouse, 2 Federal Square, Courtroom 8, Newark, NJ 07102. Lead trial counsel and all parties must attend. If a corporate or government entity is a party, then a person with full settlement authority must attend. If an insurance carrier is involved, then an adjustor with full settlement authority must attend (in addition to the party). Each party (if not having already done so) shall submit, by email to SDA_orders@njd.uscourts.gov, a confidential settlement memorandum of no more than ten double spaced pages, which were due no later than five business days before the conference. Voluminous exhibits to settlement letters (exceeding 20 pages) will not be reviewed by the Court unless submitted in hard copy that is received by Chambers no later than five (5) business days in advance of the settlement conference. So Ordered by Magistrate Judge Stacey D. Adams on 07/10/2026. (bms)
