Order ~Util - Set Deadlines/Hearings
ORDER. Settlement Conference set for 12/9/2026 at 2:00 p.m. in GLS's Chambers before US Magistrate Judge Giselle Lopez-Soler. A representative of each party with binding authority to settle the matter must be present during the in-person conference. Any party who intends to have their representative available by telephone is to seek leave from the Court at least 5 days prior to the conference and must explain the reasons why the representative cannot attend the conference in person. Failure to have a representative present or available by phone with prior authorization from the Court will result in the imposition of sanctions. Plaintiff is to submit a settlement demand to Defendant by November 17, 2026. Defendant is to respond to that settlement demand by November 24, 2026. After this exchange, the parties are ORDERED to meet in person, by no later than December 2, 2026, to discuss their settlement proposals. Each party is also ORDERED to submit an ex-parte memorandum to the Court, outlining the key facts and legal issues, the party's position regarding settlement, and a brief description of previous settlement efforts. These are due by December 4, 2026, and are not to exceed 5 pages. Any submission that is longer than 5 pages and that does not contain a description of the parties' settlement efforts and position on future settlement discussions will be stricken.
