2 - Minute Order ~Util - Terminate Deadlines/Hearings ~Util - Terminate Motions
MINUTE ORDER at the direction of the Court, the Honorable Tana Lin, United States District Judge:(1) Pursuant to Defendants' motion to seal (Dkt. No. 33 ), and consistent with LCR 5(g)(2)(B), the clerk is DIRECTED TO PROVISIONALLY SEAL the documents at Docket Numbers 34 -1 and 34 -2 pending resolution of the motion to seal.(2) The Parties are DIRECTED to review Local Civil Rule 5(g) regarding the sealing of documents, with particular attention to their responsibility to meet and confer before filing a document designated as confidential by the opposing party, see LCR 5(g)(1)(A). Any document that is the subject of a previously or simultaneously filed motion to seal SHALL be provisionally filed "under seal without prior court approval pending the courts ruling on the motion to seal." LCR 5(g)(2)(B).(3) In light of various pending motions in this case (Dkt. Nos. 24 , 62 , 72 ), the Court FINDS good cause to delay the entry of a case schedule, and hereby STRIKES the upcoming deadlines for the Parties to exchange initial disclosures and submit a joint status report. See Dkt. No. 56 . These deadlines will be reset, if appropriate, after the pending motions are resolved.(4) In order to maintain control of the Courts docket, the Court requests the Partiesrefrain from filing any further motions until the Court has the opportunity toaddress the pending ones. The Court also requests the patience of the Parties asthis District (and this Court) have experienced a drastic increase in civil filings and, in particular, immigration habeas petitions, each of which requires expedited consideration and "usurps the attention and displaces the calendar of the judge or justice who entertains it[.]" (CJS)
