PAPERLESS ORDER: The undersigned in in receipt of email correspondence from counsel for Anne Arundel County Board of Education. The undersigned directed counsel to review and comply with Judge Hurson's 43 Letter Order regarding the informal discovery dispute process. Counsel has advised the undersigned that Plaintiff's counsel is unwilling to meet and confer. Counsel are directed to meet and confer regarding the substance of the discovery dispute as well as compliance with the Court-ordered method for raising a discovery dispute to the undersigned's attention. ECF No. 43. Local Rule 104.7 imposes a required that counsel "confer with confer with one another concerning a discovery dispute and make a reasonable effort to resolve the differences between them." Local Rule 104.7 (Dec. 1, 2025 D. Md.). A reasonable effort "requires that the parties meet in person or by video or telephonic means for a reasonable period of time in a good faith effort to resolve the disputed matter." Id. As the Court's discovery guidelines make clear, the parties and their counsel have an obligation to cooperate and communicate with one another, which can reduce the cost of discovery and conserve valuable resources, both of the parties and of the Court.
