PAPERLESS ORDER granting 41 Unopposed Motion for Leave to File Brief of Professor Seth Barrett Tillman and Landmark Legal Foundation as Amici Curiae in Support of Defendants ("Motion").
Professor Seth Barrett Tillman and the Landmark Legal Foundation seek leave to file an amicus brief in support of Defendants' Motions to Dismiss, [ECF Nos. 37, 38]. See Mot. at 1. A district court has "the inherent authority to appoint amici curiae... to assist it in a proceeding." Resort Timeshare Resales, Inc. v. Stuart, 764 F. Supp. 1495, 1500 (S.D. Fla. 1991). Because this case involves complex constitutional questions related to the Domestic Emoluments Clause, the Court will grant amici curiae leave to file their amicus brief. Amici curiae shall file their brief on the public docket on or before August 20, 2026.
To the extent any other parties seek to file amicus briefs related to Defendants' pending Motions to Dismiss, they shall move for leave to do so on or before October 1, 2026.
