Minute Order
MINUTE ORDER issued by Courtroom Deputy for Magistrate Judge Chi Soo Kim on 6/18/2026: The Court is in receipt of the parties' stipulated protective order. (ECF No. 32 .) Though the parties state that they are not seeking a blanket protective order, the stipulation contains no information about the kinds of information to be protected, and so is in effect seeking a blanket protective order. See San Jose Mercury News, Inc. v. U.S. Dist. Court--N. Dist. (San Jose, 187 F.3d 1096, 1103 (9th Cir. 1999) ("[B]lanket orders are inherently subject to challenge and modification, as the party resisting disclosure generally has not made a particularized showing of good cause with respect to any individual document."). Thus, the Court declines to approve the proposed order as written. The parties may resubmit the proposed order after addressing the requirements of Local Rule 141.1(c), including the requirement that protective orders contain "(1) A description of the types of information eligible for protection under the order, with the description provided in general terms sufficient to reveal the nature of the information (e.g., customer list, formula for soda, diary of a troubled child)." (TEXT ONLY ENTRY) (Deputy Clerk AW)
