Minute Entry for Deposition Dispute Conference held before Magistrate Judge Daphne A. Oberg: Zoom Conference held on 7/2/2026. The parties contacted the magistrate judge regarding a deposition dispute, and the court held a a videoconference pursuant to DUCivR 37-1(e). The parties dispute whether the deposing attorney may interrupt the witness during nonresponsive answers. After hearing from counsel for Plaintiff and Defendant Wasatch County, the court rules that the deposing attorney should allow the witness to complete his answer before objecting based on nonresponsiveness and re-asking the question (if appropriate). If the witness continues to answer nonresponsively such that the deposition is impeded, the deposing party may file a motion and, if appropriate, seek extra time for the deposition.
