MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Magistrate Judge Brenda Weksler on 8/19/2026. Before this Court is Defendants' motion to seal their unredacted motion for summary judgment and certain exhibits. ECF No. 74 . The sealed, unredacted document is at ECF No. 75. The basis for Defendants' request is that Plaintiffs have designated this information as confidential under the protective order at ECF No. 19. Stipulated protective orders alone do not justify sealing court records. Kamakana v. City & Cnty. of Honolulu, 447 F.3d 1172, 1183; see also Foltz v. State Farm Mut. Auto. Ins. Co., 331 F.3d 1122, 1133 (9th Cir. 2003) (noting that reliance on a blanket protective order, without more, will not make a showing of good cause). Here, Plaintiffs have not provided a response justifying the need to seal these documents. As a result, the motion to seal is DENIED. Should Plaintiffs still wish to maintain this information under seal, they must file the appropriate motion by 9/2/2026. Failure to do so may result in the unsealing of the unredacted documents. The Clerk of Court is instructed to maintain ECF No. 75 under seal until further order from this Court.(no image attached) (Copies have been distributed pursuant to the NEF - MAD)
