MINUTE entry before the Honorable Franklin U. Valderrama: On 8/24/2026, the Court directed third-party Defendant Zhejiang Hengfeng Technology Co., Ltd. (Hengfeng) to file a status report by 8/27/2026 explaining why it failed to comply with the Court's order to confer with Keystone to file a joint status report by 8/17/2026, as well as its position as to the issues left to try in the case, as well as whether Hengfeng consents to trial by the Magistrate Judge. To date, Hengfeng has not filed a status report. Based on the Court's review of Hengfeng's counsels' contact information on the most recent status report that Hengfeng participated in, as well as counsel's notice of change of law firm 160 , it appears that counsels' current contact information, including their email addresses, are not on the docket. It is every attorney's (and litigant's) responsibility to ensure that their current contact information is on the docket. The Court directs the Clerk to update Hengfeng's counsel's contact information to be the following: Thomas M. Crawford, HAWKINS PARNELL & YOUNG, LLP, One East Wacker Drive, Suite 400 Chicago, IL 60601 Tel: (312) 667-8400, Fax: (877) 566-1529, tcrawford@hpylaw.com; and Daisy Denizard, HAWKINS PARNELL & YOUNG, LLP, One East Wacker Drive, Ste. 400 Chicago, IL 60601, ddenizard@hpylaw.com. Due to the possible missed deadline based on counsel's incorrect contact information, the Court directs Hengfeng to file a status report explaining why it failed to comply with the Court's earlier orders 165 , 167 , as well as its position as to the issues left to try in the case and whether Hengfeng consents to trial by the Magistrate Judge, on or before 9/3/2026. Upon receipt, the Court will set a status hearing. If Hengfeng again fails to file a status report as directed, the Court will consider the appropriate sanction for failure to comply with Court orders. Mailed notice. (jcm) (Entered: 09/01/2026)
MINUTE entry before the Honorable Franklin U. Valderrama: Before the Court is Keystone's status report 166 , filed in response to the Court's 8/17/2026 minute entry. Keystone indicates in the status report that Keystone attempted to confer with third-party Defendant Zhejiang Hengfeng Technology Co., Ltd. (Hengfeng), on multiple occasions, but never received a response. When the Court directs the "parties" to file a status report, it expects both parties to participate in the preparation of the status report. The Court directs Hengfeng to file a status report explaining why it failed to comply with the Court's order, as well as its position as to the issues left to try in the case, as well as whether Hengfeng consents to trial by the Magistrate Judge, on or before 8/27/2026.
