Order on Motion for Extension of Time to Answer
TEXT ORDER: Defendant's 4 Motion for an Extension of Time to Respond to Plaintiff's complaint is GRANTED. Under Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(b)(1)(A), courts may, for good cause, extend time when a request is made before the original deadline expires. Based on the circumstances discussed in Defendant's motion, the Court finds good cause for an extension. The Court notes, however, that Defendant does not state whether Plaintiff opposes the extension, in violation of Civil Local Rule 6.1. Defendant is advised to follow all applicable local rules moving forward. Accordingly, Defendant must respond to Plaintiff's 1 complaint on or by August 3, 2026. Entered by Magistrate Judge Ronald L. Hanna on June 2, 2026. (NL)
