MINUTE ORDER granting the 81 Motion to Continue. In light of counsel's representations about her health and her doctor's recommendation, the Court continues the trial set for August 25, 2026. The Court ORDERS the Parties to appear for a status conference on August 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Courtroom 14 (in person) before Judge Sparkle L. Sooknanan.
As the Court previously indicated at the August 11, 2026, Pretrial Conference, counsel for the Defendants has a tendency to file documents under seal without justification. In this Circuit, the sealing of documents must be justified using the factors established in United States v. Hubbard, 650 F.2d 293, 317–22 (D.C. Cir. 1980), and the Defendants' 82 Motion for Leave to File Under Seal does not address any of those factors. The Defendants must properly justify any sealing request in order to defeat the "strong presumption in favor of public access to judicial proceedings." Hubbard, 650 F.2d at 317. Because the Defendants fail to do so here, the Court directs Defendants' counsel to file a supplemental memorandum in support of the 82 Motion for Leave to File Under Seal by August 24, 2026.
