MINUTE ORDER. On September 8, 2026, Defendant filed a notice suggesting this case is related to Johnson v. GT Independence Services, LLC, 26-cv-566 [hereinafter Johnson Dkt.], on the grounds that both cases involve common issues of fact and grow out of the same event or transaction. ECF No. 7 . That characterization does not appear to be accurate. The Johnson matter seems to involve a dispute over alleged unpaid wages and race discrimination against the plaintiff, Mr. Johnson. See Johnson Dkt., Def.'s Mot. to Dismiss, ECF No. 10 . This matter, by contrast, concerns Defendant's alleged negligent performance of duties owed to a different plaintiff, Ms. Hawkins. Although there is a preexisting relationship among the parties, that alone is not enough to deem the two civil matters as related. See LCvR 40.5(a)(3).
