FX Firm Can't Use HSBC's UK Docs For US Manipulation Suit

Law360, London (November 12, 2018, 4:12 PM GMT) -- A judge in London has rejected an attempt by a debt management company to use documents that HSBC PLC disclosed in U.K. proceedings as it considers whether to sue two of the bank’s units in the U.S. over allegations of "serious wrongdoing" in the foreign exchange markets.

Judge Andrew Baker declined an application to the High Court on Friday from ECU Group PLC for permission to use the documents in connection with legal advice it is obtaining from U.S. lawyers over whether it could bring a suit in the American courts against HSBC Holding PLC and HSBC Bank USA NA....
