Law360, London (August 2, 2019, 6:16 PM BST) -- The U.K.'s privacy watchdog slapped a boiler replacement company with a £160,000 ($194,000) fine after discovering it made thousands of illegal cold calls to customers.
The heating company, called Making It Easy, made over a million marketing calls in an eight-month period between May and December 2018, according to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Some of these were legal, but the majority — around 850,000 — were made to people who had opted not to receive cold calls.
