Journalist Denies Leaking Confidential Info On ENRC Probe

Law360, London (January 15, 2020, 7:01 PM GMT) -- A British freelance journalist has denied leaking confidential information about an internal investigation by Eurasian Natural Resources Corp. into suspected corruption, saying the information he shared with newspapers wasn't protected.

In a defense filed Friday at the High Court in London, Mark Hollingsworth said the information he passed to media outlets including the Times, the Financial Times, the Guardian and Bloomberg, among others, was “justified in the public interest” and an exercise of his right to freedom of expression.
