Jaguar, Bentley Say Pandemic Warrants Pushing Oct. IP Trial

Law360 (April 8, 2020, 10:27 PM EDT) -- Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. and Bentley Motors Ltd. on Tuesday asked a Virginia federal judge to postpone an October trial in their dispute over a Jaguar vehicle control patent because of the coronavirus pandemic, with Bentley saying attorneys at the firm representing it have been hospitalized.

In a five-page joint motion to extend deadlines, the two automakers asked U.S. District Judge Mark S. Davis to push a host of events in the case by months and to take the March 20 Markman hearing, June 24 settlement conference, and Oct. 13 trial off the calendar for new dates yet-to-be-decided.
