Hiscox Denies Liability Over £4.7M Repairs To Flats
By Christopher Crosby (September 10, 2021, 5:58 PM BST) -- Hiscox has hit back at a U.K. construction company suing it for £950,000 ($1.3 million) after a now-collapsed engineering firm made structural errors while building a block of flats, arguing the contractor should be taking legal action against the actual insurers.
In a defense filed with the High Court on Sept. 1, lawyers for Hiscox Underwriting Services Ltd. denied liability to BDW Trading Ltd. in connection with allegedly poor engineering work on a residential building in Sutton, southeast England.
