UK Gov't Rejects Calls For Automatic Pension Bookings

By Dawood Fakhir (April 28, 2022, 7:50 PM BST) -- The U.K. government rejected calls from MPs on Thursday to reform the pension framework of members of British retirement savings plans, including a proposal to automatically book appointments with a government advisory service for managing their money.

The government shared its own plans for the pensions regulator to play a more active role in helping pensioners make better decisions about their savings. However, it refused the recommendation from the Work and Pensions Committee to book appointments in advance with the Pension Wise service.
