Builder Liable To Rugby Union For Leaky Stadium, Court Says

By Silvia Martelli (April 29, 2022, 6:08 PM BST) -- A court ruled Friday that England rugby union's governing body can sue the builders that installed faulty ductwork at its landmark London stadium, finding that it did not have the same cover as the sports organization under a joint insurance policy.

Ruling on a preliminary issue, High Court Judge Stephen Eyre said that while the policy insured both the Rugby Football Union and FM Conway Ltd., they were not equally covered over losses the group says it suffered for the installation of a faulty system for electric power transmission cables ahead of the 2015 World Cup.
