A broker-dealer accused by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission of taking in $3.7 million in a fraudulent scheme involving excessive, high-frequency trading asked a New York federal judge on Wednesday to toss the suit because its "broad and conclusory" allegations don't meet the pleading standard for fraud.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed separate lawsuits in New York federal court on Friday against two broker-dealers who allegedly took in a combined $4.6 million through fraudulent schemes involving excessive, high-frequency trading.
