NY Court Seeks UK's Aid In Bloomberg's Misused Data Suit
Law360 (January 4, 2019, 3:33 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday asked an English court for judicial assistance in compelling a London-based company’s cooperation with evidence requests in Bloomberg Finance LP's lawsuit accusing UBS AG of unlawfully redistributing its proprietary data.
Less than a month after disagreeing with UBS' claim that the case belongs across the pond, U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni said she lacked the authority to compel the discovery participation of StatPro Group PLC, a portfolio management service that acquired UBS' own system and allegedly gained improper third-party access to Bloomberg's data.
