Don't Let Deutsche Bank Ditch RMBS Suits, Investors Say

Law360 (January 28, 2019, 10:28 PM EST) -- Residential mortgage-backed securities investors have urged a New York federal court to reject a push by Deutsche Bank to shut down their lawsuits over its alleged failures as trustee for dozens of pre-crisis RMBS trusts, saying that the bank is trying to wriggle out of responsibility using shabby arguments and ignoring evidence.

In a nearly 100-page joint opposition brief dated Friday, Commerzbank AG and a collection of off-shore special-purpose investment vehicles assailed summary judgment bids filed last month by defendants Deutsche Bank National Trust Co. and Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas, trustees for 85 RMBS trusts in which the investor plaintiffs...
