EFH Unsecured Creditors Balk At Hunt Deal To Exit Ch. 11
Unsecured creditors on the so-called E-side of Energy Future Holdings Inc.'s two major divisions told a Delaware bankruptcy judge Tuesday they are not on board with the debtor's $12 billion Hunt Consolidated Inc.-backed reorganization strategy, arguing there's no real guarantee they'd see the full recovery the deal promises.

EFH Agrees To Hunt Deal With Eye Toward Ch. 11 Exit
Energy Future Holdings Inc. has finalized a multibillion-dollar deal to sell its stake in Texas electric utility Oncor to a consortium lead by Dallas-based Hunt Consolidated Inc., a transaction intended to thrust EFH out of Chapter 11, according to court papers filed Monday in Delaware.

A Delaware bankruptcy judge Thursday allowed Energy Future Holdings Corp. to set a Dec. 14 bar date for asbestos-related injury claims, which some unsecured creditors had called "ill-advised," and approved a noticing campaign that includes direct mail, newspapers and the Internet and incorporates some of the revisions objectors advocated.

Energy Future Intermediate Holdings Co. LLC is fighting a bid by noteholders to recover more than $81 million in interest and fees accrued on more than a billion dollars in payment-in-kind notes, saying in an objection Thursday that noteholders are blocked from recovering premiums on the claim.
