EY Ireland Hires Eversheds Partner To Lead New Law Practice

By Steven Lerner (October 4, 2021, 4:10 PM EDT) -- The Ireland unit for EY is launching a law practice and has appointed a managing partner from Eversheds Sutherland to lead it, the Big Four accounting firm announced Monday.

Alan Murphy, who is now overseeing the new law practice, joined EY, formerly known as Ernst & Young, in the spring after most recently serving as the chair of Eversheds Sutherland's European offices and on the firm's global board.

Murphy told Law360 Pulse that introducing a law practice to the market was a natural next step for the firm in helping clients navigate an increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment.
