Law360 (November 20, 2018, 12:49 PM EST) -- The insurance position for autonomous vehicles in the United Kingdom has been recently clarified in the Automated and Electric Vehicles Act 2018, or AEVA. The AEVA essentially promotes a single defendant scenario for injured parties, whereby insurers of an AV shall be liable for the damage occurring, with subsequent apportionment of liability in relation to manufacturers or other parties occurring thereafter and behind the scenes.
