Companies Urged To Clarify Risks As Brexit Deadline Looms

Law360 (February 6, 2019, 1:47 PM EST) -- As the Brexit deadline draws closer, certain public companies are working behind the scenes to clarify disclosures on how risks related to Britain's pending departure from the European Union will affect investors, at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission chairman's encouragement.

Compounding matters is that developments are in constant flux: The U.K. prime minister is attempting to renegotiate a deal on Britain's exit some seven weeks before the March 29 deadline, while European and U.K. regulators are crafting agreements that seek to mitigate Brexit disruption.
