Trump Seeks To Sink Deutsche, Capital One Subpoenas
Law360 (April 30, 2019, 9:56 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump has asked a New York federal court to bar Deutsche Bank and Capital One from complying with House Democrat-backed subpoenas seeking financial records on Trump family members and businesses, saying the demands lack a legitimate purpose and flout federal financial privacy law.
In a complaint filed late Monday, the president and several of his children and business entities argued that congressional subpoenas issued in the past month to Deutsche Bank AG and Capital One Financial Corp. amount to nothing more than political harassment and exceed constitutional limits on congressional investigative authority.
