Google Facing Inquiry Over Targeted Ads' GDPR Compliance
Law360 (May 22, 2019, 9:58 PM EDT) -- Ireland's privacy regulator said Wednesday that it is investigating whether Google's online Ad Exchange violates the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation, a case likely to have implications for the broader targeted advertising ecosystem.
The Data Protection Commission said its inquiry will investigate whether the way Google processes personal data to serve users with targeted ads complies with the year-old data protection regime.
